One of my professional satisfactions is my minor contribution made to the ODATA version 4x protocol. Voting by the ISO membership is ending this month on this potential ‘world class’ or global standard. It may take a village to raise it child but it takes ‘spaceship Earth’ to create this kind of standard. I have been privileged to have attended, interacted and learned from Ralf Handl, Michael Pizzo, and Hubert Heijkers. I have been supported in this by clients like Roger Burns, benefactors like Robert Brick, and practical IT project managers like Judy Heilman and Mike Hebert. This protocol becomes the underlining anthropomorphic layer between the browser / consumer and the digital world. It is truly marvelous that this abstraction is being globally adopted at the man/machine boundary (iNet) and the machine/machine (IoT) boundary by the digital community and it dances with a lot of other global standards. Long live the pioneers!
