In my report Courseware in Special Education [LB 1028.4 W742 1983] I measure input and output speeds of standard human senses. Indeed the QWERTY input still seems one of the fastest inputs for average trained individuals in a regular office setting. Recently Mark Zuckerberg gave his view of VR in http://www.techinsider.io/mark-zuckerberg-on-virtual-reality-2016-2 . To me one of the successes of modern IT technology has been that the development tools enhance and mimic while conforming to expected UX. VR although it can be interactive, engaging, and surprising in UX still doesn’t have the development tool sets or SDKs to be profitable. Likely as the military’s need for VR reaction speeds over human reaction speeds increases the tool sets will follow. I really like the HoloLens of MS and their potential tool set development. I would like to be ‘a tea pot flying around Mars’.
