OData Guerrilla Tools
7:02am - 19/Apr/2014
Along with the IDE that you use to create OData end points and payloads, here is a list of supplemental tools ‘yours truly’ uses for supporting OData as described in OASIS.  The primary tool authored by Ralf Handl et al at SAP is the ABNF specification for version 4 of OData.  When checking an OData producer’s feed I use a validator for OData.org .  There are older versions of validators around but the Codeplex one is the one I use.  I also use a data browser (needs updating) that can be downloaded here.  There is also a browser available from iTunes (see Cnet article here .)   Also, for a security type view I use a tool ( OyeData )  by McAfee that checks for all kinds of well-formed (WFF) OData compliant URLs.  To inspect what is actually coming down the communication channel I recommend of course Fiddler 2 and WireShark.  There are likely other tools that you may use and I invite your updates, corrections, or comments.
