Background
Information
DSS Ltd was founded on June 13, 1981 in Spruce Grove, Alberta, CANADA (near Edmonton, Alberta)
to provide information technology consulting to organizations in the
successful use of computers and software technologies. Since then, DSS Ltd has conducted over 93 management
consulting, training, and software development assignments, and lists both large and small, private and public organizations as its North American client base.
The firm has been involved with the application of software engineering to
Hyperion SQR and to ERP s including
SQR, SQL, PeopleCode, some DBA functions in Oracle and SQL
Server, and Microsoft DAX. Prior development was in Visual Basic and Visual
C++ (MFC). More recent software
engineering is in VB.NET, SSIS, and Microsoft Dynamics 2009. After
being a Project Manager on Windows and Office upgrades, most recently John
Willson has completed ITIL user manuals for Change Management and
Configuration Management. Further, roles have been completed concerning
information architecture and in business solutions on the Microsoft stack in
on premise infrastructure and on AZURE.
He is comfortable performing both functional and technical roles and
leading through example. John Willson
BA, BSc, MSc (2003) privately holds the firm. He passed the CISM exam in 2010 and maintains Confidential security. He obtained certification in ITIL V3
Foundations in 2011. John attended CobiT5
training in 2013. He is also a platinum member of Microsoft’s
Virtual Academy. He presented at
Info Sec 2015 on protocol security. In
his free time John is investigating using data science and in particular Big
Data and machine learning applied to the structured and unstructured data
housed in Microsoft Dynamics 2012. He
strives for long term business relationships that provide win/win value added
for all participants.
